For us florists, Christmas preparation starts early. Really early. As soon as the last Summer wedding is completed, and the pace of work slows down a fraction, our minds turn to the festivities. What are our promotions and best sellers going to be? What extra staff and helpers do we need to find? What are the big colours going to be this year (another year of the peacock feather perhaps? I hope not!) Many cups of coffee and sneaky biscuits are consumed as notes, designs and schedules are drawn up, altered, and adjusted again…
One thing I focus on is organising my workshops. This year it’s all about Christmas door wreaths. Beautiful blue pine, lush green holly, bright shiny baubles, gorgeous scented orange and apple slices, natural pine cones… so many seasonal goodies to get creative with! They really are lovely, and last well into the new year.
This year, I am running a class at Do and Play in Crystal Palace SE19, Thursday 3rd December, at 7pm. To book, just contact me on 07507746500 or by email (email@example.com). At just £30 per person, with all materials provided, it’s the perfect way to get your festive party started!
Or, why not organise your own party? If you’re local to South East London, then get in touch! For groups of 5+, I’ll come to your home (or village hall, pub function room… you tell me!) and guide you through the process. All you need is at least 16″ square space in front of each person, at a table, to decorate the wreath.
And if neither of those options suit, this year I’m also putting together DIY kits – a 12″ pine wreath, all the accessories, and instructions to guide you through. These’ll be available to purchase at the various craft fairs I’ll be at (Langley Boys Craft Fair, BR3 on Nov 29th, Anerley Craft Fair, SE20 on Dec 3rd, and SE20 Craft Fair, Penge on Dec 12th).
Have the best dresses door on the street, and the envy of your neighbours!
